Russian platform manufacturer

Zavod pod Russian manufacturer of aerial work platforms is due to start production of a new range of electric slab scissor lifts at an all new production facility next month.

The new 24,000 square metre plant -Zavod pod’emnikov- is located in the Ivanovo region of Russia North East of Moscow. The plant will include a modern assembly line and include all processes through to painting and testing. Please register to see all images

The new plant

The plant will produce a new four model Eco range of 1.2 metre /46 inch wide machines with 20ft, 26ft, 32ft and 40ft platform heights providing working heights of eight, 10, 12 and 14 metre working heights. Designed for indoor work, they feature direct AC drive, maintenance free gel batteries and smart chargers, and are designed for clean area work, such as food plants overall length on all units is 2.46 metres, with platform capacity on the three smaller units, 450kg. The 14 metre working height model is 360kg. The units have a list price in the region of $13,000 to $20,000 plus VAT.

The company hopes to produce around 600 units this year, then a 1,000 a year after that. It expects all units to initially go to Russian rental companies, where it has booked orders. After that its sales strategy is to add sales to countries such
as Kazakhstan, Iran, Germany.
