Skyjack moves into Indonesia

Skyjack has appointed sales and rental company Multicrane Perkasa as its exclusive distributor for Indonesia.

Multicrane will initially offer the full range of Skyjack boom and scissor lifts for both sale and rental from its base in Jakarta, while providing product support on a national basis. Multicrane currently provides a wide range of heavy lifting equipment from four locations spread across the three main islands that make up the country. Its fleet includes cranes from Kato, PM and IHI, along with Liebherr material handling and construction equipment, and now aerial work platforms from Skyjack. Its main customers work in the infrastructure, oil and gas, mining and logistics fields.

Skyjack president Brad Boehler said: “Our partnership with Multicrane Perkasa is another step in growing Skyjack’s presence in the Asian market. Multicrane’s values of safety and reliability align well with the Skyjack brand, and I am happy to have such a reputable company representing us in the region.”

Skyjack regional director Simon Cracknell added: “Our products are designed to be simple and reliable to operate and maintain, making them very attractive to companies like Multicrane and their customers. Our core values of being easy to do business with, are significant in emerging and geographically challenged regions, which make them the perfectly placed to support Asia’s growing infrastructure.”

“The aerial work platform market in Indonesia has a lot of potential. As the standard of work safety rises and we educate the market on how much more effective and efficient powered access equipment can be, we believe the take up for Skyjack will increase significantly.”
