Riwal team raises €60,000

A team of 20 from international access sales and rental group Riwal - including chief executive Norty Turner - has raised almost €60,000 in the 2016 Alpes d'HuZes event for cancer charities.

The sum raised is being matched by Riwal’s owner Doron Livnat taking the total, which will go to cancer charities, to $120,000. During the Alpe d’HuZes event, each participant climbs the Alp d’Huez mountain in France up to six times by either walking, running or cycling. This is at least the second time that a team from the company has participated in the annual event.

Turner managed to climb and descend four times taking roughly an hour and a half
each to reach the top each time, and says he was up for a fifth run, but given the road conditions decided against it. He personally raised €11,500, which was of course doubled by Livnat.

The overall event raised over €12 million for the Alpes d'HuZes foundation, bringing the total it has raised since it was established to over €141 million to combat cancer. To learn more about the foundation click here
