150ft Genie for Meyer

German rental company Meyer Lift has taken delivery of its biggest boom lift to date, a 150ft Genie SX-150 straight telescopic with jib, replacing a 135ft Genie Z-135/70 articulated boom lift as the company’s self-propelled ‘flagship’.

The new SX-150 which is equipped with four pre-programmed working heights of 48, 43, 38 and 33 metres, was handed over by Uwe Wiedemeier, Genie’s regional sales manager for Northern Germany, and Genie technical trainer Hüseyin Sari.

Meyer’s owner and chief executive Olaf Meyer cited rational and emotional reasons for the decision to purchase the Genie boom and said: "I just have a good feeling and am optimistic about the utilisation and rental of Genie SX-150 in Hamburg and the Schleswig-Holstein area. Our clients in the industrial construction and maintenance sectors increasingly require working heights over 40 metres, as does the customers working in shipyard operations, so we expect a high return on our investment. "

"Time is money for our customers. And so the time saving travel at full working height, full load capacity of 340kg and just three minutes time to reach the maximum working height will all help. The machine is also equipped with a generator package, which is advantageous in operations in steel erection. Transport on our new low loader trailer without special permits for over-width or height and without escort vehicle was another reason to buy."

The company Meyer Lift was founded in 2000 by Olaf Meyer when he took over the painting company Meyer and entered the rental market. Four years later, the rental painting business separated. Headquarters are in Hohenwestedt, around 20 kilometres west of Neumünster and the company runs a fleet of 200 aerial work platforms.
