Manitowoc appoints director of advanced engineering

The Manitowoc crane group has appointed John Lanning as director of advanced engineering and products for the Americas region he will report to John Wheeler executive vice president Americas.

Lanning has over 20 years of service with the Manitowoc and has served in a number of engineering and senior management positions. Including project engineer, chief engineer, and director of engineering.

He assumed duties as the senior vice president of applications engineering for MCG in October 2000, before becoming director of customer support for Manitowoc Crane Care in January 2005.

John Wheeler said “With such a thorough knowledge of engineering, and of the Manitowoc Company as a whole, we can expect to see good things from John. It is great to have such an experienced and long-serving member of staff in this senior role. John has the ideal product knowledge and depth of experience necessary to take on this challenging position.”
