First Spierings in Scandinavia
On Thursday Spierings delivered, what it claims is the first mobile folding tower crane in Denmark, to Odense based BAS Kraner ApS, The model is an SK599-AT5 with 50 metre jib length and maximum hook height of 56.3 metres.
BAS owner, Bo Anker Schou, says that the crane is ideally suited to the city of Odense, which has a good number of narrow city streets with medium rise buildings.

Official handover from Bob Bruijsten of Spierings (L) to Bo Schou, owner BAS Kraner
In order to show off the cranes unique capabilities the company held an open day in Odense last week and will demonstrate it in Copenhagen from 13:00 today.
BAS Kraner, was founded three years ago by Bo, the son of Henning Schou, a long time crane man who sold his crane hire business, HVS Kraner, six years ago. Today it is part of Scandinavia’s largest crane hirer, BMS.
The Schous have a history of firsts, having bought the first 50 tonne truck crane in Denmark in 1975 and the first 80 tonner a few years later. So being the first into Denmark with a mobile self erector was a natural.
If you have not seen one of these cranes setting up before and you are in the Copenhagen area, go along and take a look. It is ingenious.
