Chris Wraith to step down

IPAF technical & safety executive Chris Wraith is to step down from his current role, following six years of service.

Having decided that it is time for a change, he intends to set up as an industry consultant after he leaves IPAF at the end of August . The federation is therefore looking for a full time person to take over the role, ideally prior to his departure.

Speaking of his decision Wraith said: “I have enormously enjoyed the challenge of being IPAF’s technical & safety executive and believe we have taken important steps to improve safety worldwide: examples are the Andy Access campaign, the accident reporting project, international co-operation and numerous best practice guidance documents.”

Chief executive Tim Whiteman added: “I am sure you will join with me in wishing Chris enormous success in his new venture. He has done excellent work for IPAF and the industry in his current role and has been instrumental in important initiatives, we look forward to continuing to work with him in his new role.”

Vertikal Comment

Chris Wraith joined IPAF in 2011 from Lavendon UK quality health, safety & environmental manager for Lavendon Access Services, following the retirement of Gil Male. He has brought a great deal of experience to the post, but has also grown in the role as he gained an increasingly wide international experience and has been instrumental in a number of significant initiatives at a global level. He has also been a first class representative for the organisation and will be a very tough act to follow.

The additional international exposure he gained over the past six years, together with his previous experience, will make him a first class consultant who should be much in demand.

We wish him well in his new venture.

Chris, you brought some much needed qualities to IPAF and you will be missed. You are approachable, humble, reasonable and a good listener. You brought a ?down to earth? approach to IPAF which we all appreciated.
It will be a tough challenge for IPAF to find your replacement.
You will do well in this new chapter in you life ? All the best.
