Crane overturn in Germany
A commercially mounted truck crane overturned yesterday in the town of Westerkappeln to the North West of Osnabrück, in North Rhine Westfalia, Germany.
The crane - which appears to be a Liebherr LTF owned by local crane and access rental company Hoff – was being used to help build a new stable, but while manoeuvring into position on site – with the boom fully stowed - it rolled, on the soft sloping ground. The operator, 55, was injured and was rushed to hospital, although his injuries are not thought to be too serious.
The local fire service arrived on site and make sure that any oil or fuel leaks did not spread beyond the immediate area.
