Down in one day

A team of 33 scaffolders has raised £5,000 for cancer charities in an unusual manner.

The 33 are employed by LTC Specialist Scaffolding of Plymstock, Plymouth and Redruth Cornwall, decided donate a days pay to charity, while aiming to strip the massive scaffolding from St Peter's Church in Stoke in a single day.

"We got about three-quarters of it down," said supervisor Kevin Court. "It was a fantastic effort and everyone gave it their best shot. We're really pleased to have raised so much money for these charities. Somewhere along the line we all know someone who has cancer."

The money raised from 'Down In One Day' will be combined with that generated by the Land's End to John O'Groats walk being completed by the firm's managing director and senior scaffolder. see access men set off for John O’Groats
