Bucket truck boom fails
Two people were injured yesterday then the boom of bucket truck collapsed in Summit Township, Michigan - South of Lansing.

The scene after the two men were rescued
The incident occurred on the campus of Jackson College, where two men from Heinz Tree Service & Landscaping were working at a height of around 10 metres, removing a tree when the over-centre tubular top boom came crashing down, presumably from the rotating mechanism that operates this type of top boom.

The platform's top boom rotation mechanism appears to have failed, casuing the platform to drop
The men were conscious when the emergency services arrived and were rushed to hospital, there condition is not known at this time.
