Alfons Moog

It was only today that we learnt that the casualty was none other than Alfons Moog himself. At the time of writing we still have only basic details of what happened.

Moog built his first underbridge unit, the MBI 160-2, in 1980. since then he has gone on to build an international business in Deggenhausertal, near lake Constance, in Germany.

The company has over 350 large and highly specialised units at work around the world.

Alfons Moog was a tremendously inventive and talented personality, he will certainly be missed.

His employees have issued the following statement:

“We mourn the loss of our company's founder and president Mr Alfons Moog Beginning in 1980, starting small, with his courage and initiative he built a business enterprise which he pushed into an international business of outstanding reputation.

His fascination was to find solutions for under-bridge inspection and speciality-type construction. Countless innovations and patents showed his willingness for creative thinking. Inventive talent, single-mindedness and an enormous sense of responsibility were the personal attributes of a man whose many inventions brought him deep personal satisfaction in his 54 years of life.

The Moog Company has lost a great personality who has shown us how to grow from a small seed to a thriving tree.
We will continue the life-work of Alfons Moog in his memory.

Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
The Staff of Moog GmbH, Moog USA, Moog Asia”
