Towers collapse in high winds
The road across the dam which connects Arizona with Nevada remains closed as does the Dam’s visitor centre. The crane is being used to construct a bypass bridge over the canyon and consists of four 90 metre high guyed towers connected together with cables on which run the hook trolleys.

The towers were brought down by 100 mile an hour winds with the cables hitting two crawler cranes on the site below and tangling all of the equipment up with the overhead electricity lines.
