Flannery now president of United

US based United Rentals has given chief operating officer Matthew Flannery the additional title of president.

The title was previously held by chief executive Michael Kneeland who will continue to lead the company.

Flannery joined United as a branch manager when it acquired McClinch Equipment in 1998, since when he has held various management positions with at the branch, district, regional and national levels, he was promoted to senior vice president – operations East in 2008, adding Western operations in 2010. He has been in his current role since May 2012.
