Liebherr for Scholl
German rental company Karl Scholl has taken delivery of a 70 tonne Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 All Terrain crane.
The four axle LTM 1070-4.2 has a 50 metre main boom and features a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. The new crane will be used for assembling prefabricated concrete and hoisting air conditioning systems onto high buildings, as well as the assembly of transformer stations.
Managing director Andreas Merkel said: "Over the last few years we have seen an interesting new area of work. We have been hoisting pools over roofs into gardens in ever increasing numbers. The 50 metre telescopic boom of this new crane is perfect for this."
"The LTM 1070-4.2 with a gross weight of 48 tonnes delivers benefits for road licensing and is therefore extremely flexible in use. The new ballast distribution now also makes it possible to reduce the gross weight to below 40 tonnes. That is very helpful for us since more and more bridges are now restricted to a maximum weight of 40 tonnes."

Managing director Yvonne Scholl added: "The LTM 1070-4.2 is the first crane whose purchase I have decided as managing director. It will replace an old 60 tonne crane and will deliver a higher hoist height and greater performance. We have a great deal of work for this class of crane."
