Intelligent Manufacturing line for XCMG
Chinese crane and equipment manufacturer XCMG has completed the installation and testing of what it claims is the world’s first intelligent manufacturing production line for large crane superstructure/turntable frames and other products.
It says that new line has a capacity to manufacture up to 40 superstructure frames a day and can produce over 20 different types. The automated line is 100 metres long, with 68 locking points along the way, with an intelligent rail guided vehicle carrying the superstructure on a special pallet. It can dock with the welding or machining stations along the way and be locked accurately in place, to complete the 18 steps to create the frame. Each technician on the line can manage 10 workstations.
