SAIE opens today
The 42nd SAIE exhibition in Bologna opened today, this is a telehandler and tower crane year so plenty to see in terms of cranes, access and telehandlers.
We will be reporting from the show each evening. New product launches abound, particularly when it comes to Loader cranes, Tower cranes and truck mounted boom lifts.
Potain is using the show to unveil its latest 85 tonne/Metre tower crane, which is targeted at the Italian and Spanish markets, although it says that a number of units have already been ordered for the UK.

Leader, the Italian distribution company has launched a new 20 metre truck mounted lift on the new 3.5 tonne Nissan Cabstar. The JET200, which it claims, offers 8.5 metres outreach at a height of up to 16 metres and 200kgs lift capacity, with its straight telescopic boom and articulating jib. Not having seen the chart and the proof yet we are intrigued how this wizardry is achieved. Look for details later in the week.
