Nacanco expands in Italy

Nacanco the Spanish based, Italian owned access and telehandler rental group, has opened two new locations in Italy this month, in Padua (Padova) and Turin (Torino) and will open a third new location in Rome, sometime in November.

The three new depots join the three established locations in Milan, Bologna and Brescia, bringing the company’s total to six and providing a comprehensive coverage of Northern Italy.

Once all three are open the group will have 16 locations between Spain and Italy.

The Italian company opened its doors in 2001 and expects to have revenues this year of around €10 million from its 800 lifts and telehandlers, with the aim to reach €14 million by 2008.

Nacanco was founded in Spain in 1982 by Italian born Gabriele Giusto, the Giusto family still own a substantial majority of both the Spanish and Italian businesses, with the balance of the shares largely held by senior managers such as Pedro Torres.

The group had revenues in 2005 of €34.5 million and expects this to increase to around €38 million this year. With a fleet of 2,200 units in Spain the group fleet now numbers 3,000 units largely made up of Genie, JLG, Haulotte and Skyjack aerial lifts and Manitou telehandlers.

In the past year or so, the Spanish company has entered the alloy tower rental market and in a short space of time has become a major participant in what is a rapidly growing business in Spain.

In 2001 Giusto handed over the day to day running of the business to the senior managers, including his children.
