LHM 600s for Guatemala
Puerto Quetzal, the largest port on Guatemala’s pacific coast, has taken delivery of two 104 tonne Liebherr LHM 600 mobile harbour cranes.
The port, located 63 miles south west of Guatemala City, is now part majority owned and operated by Yilport Holding, the Turkish owned international port operator, which acquired a 55 percent stake in Puerto Quetzal just last month and has a further two units on order for the port.
The LHM 600s have a maximum radius of 58 metres, twin lift capability and can service vessels up to 19 container rows wide and nine container stacks high. They also feature a 12 metre tower extension, providing a cab height of 37 metres.

Liebherr sales director for mobile harbour cranes Andreas Müller said: “These new machines are an essential future investment in Yilports terminal in order to handle the new generation of vessels. Liebherr is looking forward to a cooperative and strategic partnership with the Yildrim Group. We are delighted that Yilport Holding trusts in our reliable cranes. Looking ahead to projects in the pipeline for the coming year, it is clear that we will continue to expand this partnership.”
