CPL mounts its 1,000th lift

UK based aerial lift distributor and platform installer Cumberland Platforms (CPL) has produced its 1,000th aerial lift vehicle conversion.

The milestone machine, a 13.1 metre Palfinger P130A mounted on an Isuzu D-Max chassis, was delivered to UK rental company Access Hire Nationwide. The P130A provides an outreach of 6.2 metres and 240kg platform capacity. Established in 2011, CPL manufactures vehicle mounted aerial lift which primarily serve the utility, rental, telecommunications and arborist sectors. It also distributes the range of light truck mounts and spider lifts from Palfinger Platforms Italy. The company was acquired by French vehicle mounted lift manufacturer Klubb last year.

CPL managing director Paul Murphy said: “We are delighted that CPL has reached this milestone within the short time that the company has traded. We could not have done it without our fantastic team at CPL. Everyone here has helped to make the company the success it is today which makes me very proud to be the managing director. We have listened to our customers and grown with them. Therefore, we are growing to be the market leaders in the UK.”

Based in Normanton, West Yorkshire, Access Hire Nationwide runs a fleet of van mounted, pick up mounted and truck mounted platforms. It mostly services companies in the telecommunications and utility sectors, as well as local authorities.
