90t Liebherr for Hess Krane

Düsseldorf based Hess-Krane has taken delivery of a four axle 90 tonne Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 All Terrain crane.

Hess-Krane is a stand alone division of Hess which was founded in 1977 and specialises in plant relocations, machinery transport and assembly. It set up the crane division four years ago, to provide cranes for both in house work and an external rental service.

Owner Joachim personally took delivery of the new crane at Liebherr’s Ehingen plant and said: “The new LTM 1090-4.2 will replace a stolen LTM 1070-4.2 and is now our largest crane. We wanted a powerful four axle crane with low axle loads which we can use flexibly.”

“The LTM 1090-4.2 features a 60 metre main boom making it perfect for jobs for tradesmen working in Düsseldorf city centre, such as balcony installation and roofing work. Every metre of boom length makes a difference here. The VarioBase outrigger support base and VarioBallast counterweight are also very helpful in the constricted city centre. They enable us to use a powerful crane which requires very little space.”

We look to keep our crane fleet up to date with the latest technology, but we also have a 23 year old 40 tonne three axle LTM 1040/1, which is still providing sterling service thanks to its good quality and the care we give it. Liebherr mobile cranes hold their value very well and the good level of service plays a major role in deciding to buy from Liebherr. The fact that we are close to the service outlet in Oberhausen is also a benefit, of course.”

The Hess fleet also contains a number of battery powered pick & carry cranes from Lift Systems, Jekko and JMG and a few spider cranes.
