New Link-Belt RT

Link-Belt Cranes will unveil an all new 110 tonne two axle Rough Terrain crane at Bauma, the 120 RT.

The new crane features a six section 50 metre pin & latch boom, topped by a 10.7 to 17.7 metre bi-fold swingaway which can be installed inline, or manually offset at 15, 30 or 45 degrees. Two additional 4.9 metre lattice inserts take the maximum tip height to 79.8 metres. The crane includes a three slab, hydraulically removable 13.2 tonne counterweight, with a total working weight of under 56.5 tonnes depending on extensions.

The Link Belt 120RT

The crane features a Cummins Stage V/Tier IV diesel Tier III Cummins for emerging markets powering a six speed transmission, with two axle four link suspension. The wiring is CAN bus 24 volt system. Access to the carrier deck is possible from six points around the crane with new ladders or steps, while the access to the flat deck from the cab is easy. The 120RT features all-new durable textured paint, along with a new slip-resistant paint on the carrier deck.

Link-Belt’s V-CALC - Variable Confined Area Lifting Capacities - system features 81 different outrigger configurations. Once the outriggers are set, the crane’s Pulse 2.0 system indicates the crane’s available capacity for that configuration. The system then previews the real time capacities for the next five radii for the given boom angle. Upon selection, Link-Belt Pulse 2.0 provides a live view of the working area with colour coded quadrants. If the chart exceeds capacity at a given slew angle - if the operator slews towards a position for which the load is too high for example - the system will begin to slow five degrees in advance, coming to a smooth stop.

The winches feature a single line pull of 10,700kg and include ultra-wide drums to maintain line pull performance for longer, thanks to fewer layers. The crane includes the company’s new cab, first seen on the 75RT in 2017, with excellent visibility and operator comfort. Standard features include cab tilt of 20 degrees, the ergonomic seat with built-in single axis electronic joystick controllers, a high capacity automotive style heating and air conditioning system and the van type pop out/sliding door. A full camera package in included with reversing, winch and right side of superstructure monitoring. A full telematics suite is also installed as standard.

The 120RT weighs 42.85 tonnes with the counterweight removed and has an overall height of 3.91 metres for relatively easy transport
