Ramirent acquires Rocla’s Finnish modular rental
Ramirent is to acquire the modular cabin rental business of forklift and industrial material handling equipment rental company Rocla Finland.
Rocla group headquarters are located in Finland, with operational companies in Finland, Denmark and Russia, all of which offer a wide range of warehouse and in plant logistics equipment, from fork trucks to stock pickers and Automated Guided Vehicles. The group also manufactures Cat and Mitsubishi branded fork trucks. The local Finnish rental business also offers its customers aerial work platforms and modular offices/cabins, but is now looking to focus on its core material handling business, thus the sale to Ramirent.
As part of the deal the two Finnish companies will step up their co-operation with Ramirent Finland providing the its full range of rental services to Rocla’s larger industrial and logistic customers.
Mikael Kämpe, managing director Ramirent Finland said: "This acquisition supports perfectly our strategy execution in Finland. The Rocla Solution's site modules are modern and well equipped and they fully complement our module rental offering. With this transaction, we will further strengthen our position as the leading rental service provider to industrial customers in Finland."
Jukka Viinikainen, managing Director of Rocla Solutions added: "The deal will strengthen our co-operation with Ramirent. Intralogistics solutions including strong development of digital services are at the heart of our business. Combining our knowledge of internal logistics with Ramirent's offering enables us to offer more extensive solutions for our customers."
This looks like a good move for Ramirent and Rocla, allowing each to focus in its strengths without cutting the product range offered to Rocla customers. For Rami it offers the potential to increase its industrial customer base, which is less cyclical than construction. A win win deal.
