Third Liebherr for Prillaman
Prillaman Crane & Rigging of Hampton, Virginia, has taken delivery of a new 90 tonne Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 All Terrain crane.
The four axle LTM 1090-4.2 has a 60 metre main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension for a maximum tip height of just under 80 metres. It features the manufacturer’s VarioBallast variable counterweight and VarioBase outrigger systems, both of which add to the crane’s performance and flexibility.

The new crane went straight out on its first job at the Busch Gardens theme park I Williamsburg, where it was used to support inspection work on some of the rides.
Owner Paul Prillaman said: “What the crane does well is reaching the highest points in confined spaces. We are always working in tight areas around the park’s rides. We chose the LTM 1090-4.2 for that really long reach – it’s really good for that niche market. For this first job we did not have to add the extension, which made the work more efficient."

“When I bought my first Liebherr, I price shopped it against a few other cranes and was told the Liebherr was worth it. I have owned that crane for six years now and it’s never had any problems –just routine maintenance. When it came to purchase our next crane - a 300 ton class crane, the biggest crane I have ever bought, I only looked at Liebherr and went for the LTM1250-5.1.”
“What has made me such a believer in Liebherr is that you are not just buying a piece of equipment. I remember Daniel Pitzer of Liebherr USA telling me when I bought my last crane ‘Welcome to the family.’ The kind of service Liebherr gives is amazing. And I have never seen a company that’s as big as Liebherr treat us with such personal service. And that’s why the past three new cranes I have bought have all been Liebherr.”
