Partytime at Spierings

Around 1,500 visitors joined the Spierings crane team today at the company’s production facility and Headquarters in Oss, the Netherlands for a party and open day.

Spierings had plenty to celebrate, it was the official unveiling of its new seven axle model SK 2400- AT 7. The first of the high capacity models which is now ready for delivery to Verschoor of Sassenheim, Holland. Vershoor is developing a habit for taking the first examples of new Spierings models.

The company has also just completed its 500th mobile tower crane and will celebrate its 20th anniversary at Bauma next year.

The new seven axle SK 2400- AT 7 was announced just before Christmas last year (See Spierings to launch 7 axle) and was planned with a lifting capacity of five tonnes at 42 metres radius and an under hook height of 36 metres. As well as taking the five tonnes up to its 56 metres maximum hook height..

Handling a 14 tonne wheel loader at 20 metres radius demonstrates this cranes strength

The final calculations and following thorough stability testing by Dutch notified body, Aboma/Keboma, confirmed that the crane can in fact handle six tonnes at 42 metres radius and 38 metres hook height, allowing for a wind force of Beaufort Force six.
The crane can also take the six tonnes up to its maximum hook height.

As a result it has been christened as “The Spierings crane with the 120 percent load chart” capable, the company says, of replacing a regular 300 tonne telescopic mobile crane.
