450t Liebherr for Gräser-Eschbach

German rental company Gräser-Eschbach has taken delivery of a 450 tonne Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 All Terrain crane.

The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 can travel complete with its 85 metre main boom, along with outriggers and main hoist within 12 tonne axle loads, and is the largest crane in the company’s fleet. One of its first jobs was to dismantle a tower crane in the new Gateway Gardens business village at Frankfurt Airport. It has been purchased with a range of applications in mind, including structural steel and bridge construction as well as tower crane erection work.

Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1

Managing director Frank Eschbach said: “The LTM 1450-8.1 was perfect for this job. It was the most economical solution because of its short set up time and outstanding lifting capacity, particularly with the hook height required here. The 85 metre telescopic boom was the main criterion in our decision in favour of the 450 tonne crane from Liebherr.”

Based in Bad Schönborn in south west Germany, with another depot in Mannheim, Eschbach was established over 70 years ago and belongs to the Gräser-Eschbach group. The company employs 100 and has a fleet of over 50 cranes with capacities ranging from 40 to 450 tonnes.
