15 RTGs for Indian port

Terminal operator DP World has ordered 15 Kalmar rubber tyred gantry cranes for the Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal in Mumbai, India.

The hybrid crane has both diesel and electric power sources and it will be equipped with a Variable Speed Generator for improved fuel economy and lower emissions by automatically optimising engine speed to match the required power. The machines in the order, which also includes two years of onsite maintenance support, will be delivered in late 2020. NSICT was India's first public-private partnership project and is part of the country's largest port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, which handles 40 percent of India's total maritime trade.
