Teupen for THW-Helfervereinigung
German non-profit organisation THW-Helfervereinigung has taken delivery of an 18 metre Teupen Leo 18GT spider lift.
The Leo 18GT offers up to 8.5 metres of outreach with its maximum platform capacity of 200kg. Weighing 2,400kg it has an overall length of 5.1 metres with platform attached. The aerial lift was purchased through donations, and the THW volunteers were trained on the lift at the Teupen test and training facility in Gronau, western Germany.

Managing director Dennis Franke said: “Teupen has long been one of the dream manufacturers for us. It was not just the technical equipment of the Leo and the expanded possibilities in use. Above all, we were attracted by the proximity to the manufacturer and the opportunity to have our helpers trained in Gronau and to have close contact with the manufacturer.”
Chairman Ralf Kosse added: “When there was a storm in Düsseldorf five years ago, we could not help at several fire departments, because our old platform did not fit into the narrow backyards. This will hardly happen to us in the future.”
