AMCS for Abu Dhabi project

French crane safety system manufacturer AMCS Technologies has won a contract for its DCS 60 anti collision and management systems on 20 tower cranes working at the Yas Island construction project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The tower cranes include 18 Potain cranes, including 16 MCT205 and two MC175s, and two Raimondi MRT294 cranes. They will be used on the building of the 18,000 seat Yas Arena, that will host concerts and sports events. It will also include more than 50 cafés and restaurants, 20 shops, a cinema, a beach club and two hotels. The site will also have an area dubbed ‘Water’s Edge’, which will include residential buildings, a waterfront promenade and a pier. Ground was broken on the site in December 2017, and the first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
