New MD for Bronto

Bronto Skylift managing director Harry Clayhills is to step down at the start of December, he will be replaced by Lasse Orre.

Orre, 57, has spent most of his career in the transport market, working all over the world in a variety of roles, including manufacturing, sales & marketing and general management. He joins Bronto from Transtech – a Finnish division of the Skoda group that builds trams and other rolling stock, where he has been chief executive since 2016.

He began his career in 1986 as a manufacturing manager with glass manufacturer Iittala, moving to a similar role at sensor manufacturer Vaisala Technologies in 1993. In 1995 he moved up a notch, joining electronics group Elcoteq as operations director for the Asia Pacific region. His next move took him to Swiss industrial electronics company Enics as global account manager in 2006. Two years later he joined Bombardier in China as director of sales & marketing. In 2008 he moved to Exel Composites as group vice president of sales & marketing, and took up his first role as chief executive in 2011 with Mitron group, the manufacturer of displays for the transport market, leaving to join Transtech in 2016.
