Falcon acquires transport company
UK rental company Falcon Tower Crane Services has acquired specialist transport company TJ Robins, to form a new division Falcon Freight.
Established in 1919, TJ Robins is based on an 8,500 square metre site in Dunstable, near Luton, which is also included in the acquisition. It runs a fleet of eight Scania trucks equipped with Fassi and Palfinger loader cranes ranging from 45 to 80 tonne/metres. They will join Falcon’s fleet of 12 delivery vehicles to form the new division.

The acquisition will now create Falcon’s haulage division Falcon Freight
Falcon said: “Haulage has always been an essential part of our business, moving crane components all over the country. Over the years, we have developed the skills and expertise to successfully manage a fleet of trucks, recently obtaining the FORS Gold accreditation. It is logical that our next step should be an investment in the infrastructure of our own haulage business, which includes a yard in a central UK location. With depots in Norfolk, Manchester, Scotland and now Dunstable we are perfectly placed to deliver a good, reliable service to both our crane business and the existing TJ Robins customers.”
Falcon Tower Crane Services is the largest tower crane supplier in the UK and runs a fleet of over 400 tower cranes and 150 generators. From its headquarters in Norfolk and three other depots the company also operates a specialist lifting training centre along with a shotblast and spray department.
