450t Liebherr for Gyger Levage
Swiss crane rental company Gyger Levage has taken delivery of the first 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1 in the French speaking region of Switzerland along with a 40 tonne LTM 1040-2.1.
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 - the largest in the company’s fleet - can travel complete with its 85 metre telescopic boom, outriggers and winch within 12 tonne axle loads. The crane also features the VarioBallast adjustable counterweight, and Variobase outrigger set up systems.
Eric Gyger, owner of Gyger Levage, said: “The LTM 1450-8.1 is the most powerful crane that we have ever bought. It will significantly extend our lifting capacity range upwards. We actually wanted to replace a 350-tonne crane, but we then decided to keep both cranes as the LTM 1450-8.1 will open up new areas of business for us with its higher performance. And it is also strategically important that it is the first 450-tonne crane in French-speaking Switzerland.”

The two axle LTM 1040-2.1, which replaces a 15 year old LTM1030/2 includes a 35 metre main boom which can handle 7.4 tonnes when fully extended, or take 1.1 tonnes to its maximum radius of 31 metres.
Located just outside of Bern, Switzerland, Gyger has a fleet of 28 All Terrain and self-erecting tower cranes.
