New board member for Ashtead
Ashtead, owner of Sunbelt Rentals in the US and Canada along with A-Plant in the UK, has appointed retail/clothing executive Jill Easterbrook as a non-executive director.
Easterbrook will officially join the Ashtead board at the start of the new year and will also become a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.
Easterbrook has been chief executive of UK clothing company Boden since 2017 but informed the company in September that she wished to leave, in order to focus on building a portfolio of non-executive directorships.
Prior joining Boden she was group business transformation director at Tesco, having previously been head of the company’s UK/Irish clothing division. She joined the supermarket chain in 2001 as a business development director but began her career in 1991 with Marks & Spencer in a merchandising role, leaving in 1997 to join Ernst & Young as a management consultant. She has also been a non-executive director of Auto Trader group since 2015.
