Dropped load proves fatal

A man died earlier this week - Monday December 30th - when he was struck by a load of reinforcing bars that fell from a crane on a construction site at Tysons Corner, Virginia - close to Washington DC’s Dulles Airport .

The man, Nelson Aguilar-Salamanca, 55, was working on the Capital One bank campus where a second development phase is currently underway. No one else on site was hurt in the incident.

The Fairfax County, Virginia police department and Virginia occupational safety and health are investigating the incident.
