Konecranes for Intermodal

Australian rail transport and container storage company Intermodal Link Services has taken delivery of five Konecranes SMV 4531 TC5 reach stackers and an empty container handler for double stacking.

Manufactured at Konecranes Lift Trucks plant in Lingang, China, the SMV 4531 TC5 can lift 45 tonnes in the first row, 31 tonnes in the second row and 16 tonnes in the third row. The reach stackers also feature the Flow Drive Ecolifting system, which the company claims cuts fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 25 percent.

Intermodal Link Services has also placed an order for a SMV 5/6 ECC 100 DS empty container handler which is able to reach and handle the fifth and sixth containers in a stack weighing up to 10 tonnes at the same time.

Daniel Sjöstrand, sales director and sales support manager at Konecranes Lift Trucks, said: “Excellent teamwork has given us another satisfied customer, as the reputation of Konecranes Lift Trucks with Ecolifting builds around the world.”

John Morison, national sales and product manager at Konecranes’ distributor, United Equipment, added: “We are always proud to hear that our service minded attitude makes all the difference. With Konecranes Lift Trucks, we can be sure that we are providing our customers with the best solutions possible.”

Intermodal Link Services was established in 2007 in response to the needs of a major agricultural exporter and now operates from terminals in Fremantle and Forrestfield. The company received its first Konecranes reach stack at the beginning of last year and said that concerns over the environment were a major driver behind the latest order.
