Sat Dhaiwal to advise GGR

UK crane, lifting and glass handling sales and rental company GGR has appointed ex-A-Plant chief executive, Sat Dhaiwal, as an independent advisor to the board.

The company says that the move is intended to help accelerate the company’s vision for growth and development over the next few years.
Dhaiwal began his rental career with Uni Rent - part of the Wolseley group - in 1985 on a part time basis while still at school. He joined the company on a full time when he was 16, starting out as a trainee/ tool hire apprentice and was promoted to depot manager three years later, and a divisional manager responsible for four depots when he was just 21. He left in 1993 to join A-Plant as a depot manager and moved up through various regional management roles, to become chief executive in 2002, departing in 2018

Last year he joined Ainscough Crane Hire as a non-executive director, although he is no longer listed in the latest accounts. During his term at A-Plant the company did well and he was generally well regarded and respected, both internally and externally.
