First SPX532 for UK

UK metalwork fabrication company Argles Metal Design has taken delivery of the UK’s first 3.2 tonne Jekko SPX532 spider crane from distributor JT Cranes.

Launched at bauma, the SPX532 has a 10.5 metre main boom and a 5.4 metre jib to offer a maximum tip height of 17.3 metres. Using just its main boom it can lift 1.45 tonne to a maximum height of 12 metres and 500kg at a 9.7 metres radius.

Weighing just 2,350kg, the crane has an overall width of 770mm, a length of 3.25 metres and a height of 1.96 metres. The crane also features 360 degree continuous slew, variable outriggers, remote control operation and dual diesel/AC electric power packs.

JT Cranes director Russ Taylor, said: “Argles Metal Design was looking for its first crane to complement its successful steel fabrication and design company. It wanted to maximise its capacity and versatility but still be able to tow the crane behind its vehicles. The SPX532 was the obvious choice being the class leader and often having superior capacity to competitors' larger and heavier machines. From our point of view, the SPX532 is truly astounding in how versatile it is - it really is a case of if the SPX532 can’t do it then there is no other towable crane that will and you’re going to need a bigger crane!”
