First LTM 1110 in US

New York crane rental company Cranes, Inc has taken of the first 110 tonne Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 All Terrain crane to arrive in the USA. The company has a history of taking first units, having been the first in the US to take delivery of the 400 tonne LR 1400 and 350 tonne LR 1350 crawler cranes as well as a 55 tonne LTC 1055-3.1 city crane.

Launched at bauma last year, the five axle LTM 1110 features a 60 metre main boom topped by a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold lattice swingaway extension. Two additional inserts between the boom nose and the extension take it to 33 metres, for a maximum tip height of 97 metres. Features include the company’s VarioBase Plus technology which uses its VarioBase variable outrigger setup system with wider outriggers at the rear of the crane for increased capacities. It can be configured for travel axle loads of 10, 12 and 16 tonnes.

Cranes, Inc president Rob Weiss, said: “I’m thrilled to be the first customer in the country to receive an LTM 1110-5.1. We’ve always been kind of a pioneer with Liebherr. We’ve had the first LR 1350s in the country. We’ve been the first for a lot of products. I have a lot of faith and trust in the product and I think nobody makes a better crane and we’ve always been proud to feature Liebherr in our fleet.”
