UK rental company Star Platforms has taken delivery of more electric, hybrid and push around lifts, in order to increase the percentage of environmentally friendly units in its fleet. The latest additions take it to 89 percent.
New deliveries include Power Tower push arounds, Skyjack slab electric scissor lifts and hybrid Niftylift HR15 and HR28 boom lifts. It has also increased the number of battery powered Haulotte Star 10 mast booms in its fleet to 75 units.
Star Platforms managing director Richard Miller, said: “Our ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that we have an effective environmental management system in place and as we continue to grow and add to our fleet. We regularly review our carbon footprint, and this includes our hire fleet. We are seeing more and more demand from our customer base for electric or hybrid platforms and are pleased the industry is moving to use more energy efficient machinery.”
Star Platforms also has a fleet of Euro VI complaint delivery and service vehicles which have been fitted with the latest telematics to monitor efficient driving, reduce idling time and cut fuel usage.
