Gerken takes first 30m on 3.5t

German rental company Gerken has taken delivery of the first 30 metre Ruthmann truck mounted lifts on a 3.5 tonne chassis in the form of 15 Ruthmann TB300s. The company has also ordered further TB300 units with an improved maximum capacity of 295kg following some structural changes the manufacturer is making.

Unveiled as a prototype at Bauma last year - with Gerken’s name on it - the straight telescopic TB300 is mounted on a 3.5 tonne Mercedes Sprinter chassis and offers a maximum outreach of 17.1 metres with a reduced 100kg platform capacity or an outreach of 12.8 metres with its maximum platform capacity of 250kg. Until now - as with other rental companies - Gerken was only able to offer customers a 30 metre platform on a 7.5 tonne chassis, requiring a class C1 driving licence.
