Palfinger cranes for offal transport

Sarga, a regional agency of the Aragon local authority in northern Spain, has purchased five new Palfinger PK 8.501 SLD 3 loader cranes.

The cranes are mounted on Renault Cab 2300 4x2 chassis with custom stainless steel tipper bodywork designed for transporting animal by-products not intended for human consumption throughout the community of Aragon. The tipper body incorporates twin hydraulically operated roof doors which open a full 270 degrees to facilitate loading with a disinfection system and inbuilt auxiliary pressure hose cleaning system. The installation and body were carried out by Lugo based Carrocerías Hermanos Rega in co-operation with Palfinger Iberica.

The Palfinger PK 8.501 SLD 3 loader crane on a custom tipper chassis

The PK 8.501 offers 7.8 tonne/metre load moment and can handle 1020kg at its maximum radius of 7.4 metres. It also offers a maximum tip height of just under nine metres which is enough to reach up and over the tipper body on the chassis. Additional features include radio remote control and Palfinger’s High Performance Stability Control (HPSC) system, allowing for variable positioning of the stabilisers.
