Maltech expands HQ

Austrian rental company Maltech has broken ground on the expansion of its headquarters facility in Wals-Siezenhiem, near Salzburg.

Part of a €4 million investment, the 4,500 square metre expansion will provide further office space, common areas for employees and an additional 330 square metres of workshop area. Scheduled for completion in 2021, the expanded facility will provide more than 9,000 square metres for the rental and maintenance of its fleet of aerial work platforms and telehandlers.

Joint managing director, Gregor Klopf, said: “The growth of recent years made it urgently necessary to expand the workshop area, the office space as well as the social rooms. Initially there were considerations to convert the existing building, but very soon in the planning phase we realized that the optimal work situation for our employees requires the building to be demolished and a complete redesign.”

Joint managing director, Thomas Kumposcht added: “It is positive for both our employees and our customers that we can stay here. The prerequisites are ideal, as the motorway connection is in the immediate vicinity and we now have enough space available. We simply feel comfortable here.”

Established in 1975, Maltech Arbeitsbühnen operates from six locations in Austria, three in Hungary and one in Slovakia. The company runs a fleet of more than 2,000 boom lifts, scissor lifts, trailer lifts, truck mounted platforms, telehandlers and forklifts.
