First Z-45 FEs for Spain and Germany

German rental company Seeger Rental and Spanish rental company Soos Maquinaria have taken delivery of the first 45ft Genie boom lifts in their respective countries.

Launched at bauma, the hybrid Z-45 FE articulated boom lift offers a working height of 15.9 metres, an outreach of 6.9 metres with an up & over height of 7.5 metres and a platform capacity of 300kg. It can either operate in full electric mode - which can handle a full shift on a single charge - or in hybrid mode which combines the two and can run for a week on a single tank of diesel. Weighing 6.57 tonnes, it features the company’s Lift Connect geolocation and telematics fleet management system as standard.

Seeger Rental, which is based in Nagold, near Stuttgart, has taken the first two units in Germany. Company owner Karlheinz Seeger, said: “In the past, customers would have rented a diesel machine. However, they now find that with Genie hybrid boom lifts they can combine the advantages of the latest fuel/electric technology to achieve the power performance they need to work productively and comply with their customers’ demands.”

In Spain, Oscar Castellanos, chief executive of Galicia based Soos Maquinaria, said: “Thanks to their two modes of operation, with these models, customers benefit from two machines in a single unit, which makes them very versatile. It combines quiet, emission free capabilities with 300kg lift capacity that we expect will make it a popular choice for combined indoor and outdoor industrial and logistics tasks, pruning trees, as well as any maintenance or refurbishment tasks at height that need to be done in noise and emissions-restricted areas or at night.”
