Haulotte expands African distribution

Haulotte has appointed Moroccan equipment distribution company Groupe Premium as its distributor across 12 countries in north west Africa.

Premium will be responsible for the sale, service and replacement part provision for Haulotte aerial work platforms and telehandlers in Morocco, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Niger, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Togo and Benin. Premium also represents Manitou, Merlo, Locatelli cranes, Linde Fork trucks and Liebherr excavators. In addition to its main service and parts operations it runs a long term rental fleet, mostly for the brands it represents.

Based in Casablanca and with subsidiaries in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mali and Togo, Premium offers general construction and handling equipment for long and short rental, as well as after sales and service agreements, training and used/reconditioned equipment.

Didier Mertens, general manager of Haulotte Africa, said: “We are pleased to announce this distribution agreement. Africa is a growing market which is asking for high quality aerial equipment. This partnership will extend our geographic coverage and allows us to meet the increasing demand.”

The company was established in 1949 by François Millet under the Altatex brand to import and distribute spare parts. It began distributing Linde fork trucks in 1965 and added Manitou rough terrain fork lifts in 1986 as well as Liebherr Construction and Putzmeister in 1995. In 2017 Paris based private equity investor Amethis acquired a “significant minority stake” in the business.
