Platform electrocution in Ohio

A man working from a truck mounted lift was electrocuted on Monday in Zanesville, Ohio, which is due east of Columbus towards Pittsburgh.

The man, Robert Voytko, 41, an employee of the EVG Company, was working from the platform of the telescopic lift, removing a sign from a local Burger King, when he turned and touched a high tension power line. The current passed though him to the ground setting fire to the grass.

The emergency services arrived on the scene but had to wait for the power to be disconnected before they could lower the platform to the ground. By then it was too late to do anything apart from declare him dead.
