A loader crane overturned this morning in a busy street in Sydney, Australia.
The crane, a rear mounted HMF, was lifting some sort of large staging panel when it overturned with the boom coming down onto overhead power or communication lines, a parked car and trailer. Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident.
From the photographs posted by the Sydney Fire service it seems as though the outriggers on the load side were either not extended, or entered a void - and there are signs of recent excavations in the street - or they were fully retracted as the crane overturned.
It looks as though the recovery crew managed to fold the boom while the truck was still lying on its side.
We will of course update this item if and when we receive any further information.
