MEC expands sales team

California based MEC Aerial Work Platforms has added two new recruits to its sales team with the appointment of Joe Broughton and Kyle Waller.

Broughton joins the company as western region sales manager following 13 and a half years with Genie, having started out with the company in 2007 as a regional sales manager. In 2017 he was promoted to national account manager for Herc rental. At MEC he will be responsible for developing new avenues of business as well as improving the service to the company’s customer base in the western region of the USA and Canada.

Joe Broughton


Waller has been appointed as business development manager, following a six month stint as strategic accounts manager with Big Lift. Prior to that he was an area operations manager at Amazon. He began his career in the educational sector, before joining Genie in 2013 as a territory sales manager. Over the next five years he moved up through a number of roles including senior territory manager and national account manager for Cat Rental Stores, leaving the company in 2018 to join Amazon. In addition to working with MEC booms and scissor lifts, he will also promote the company’s new third party parts operation.

Kyle Waller


At the same time Steve Gooding has been promoted to director of national accounts having previously worked with UpRight, Genie and Haulotte. He joined MEC in 2012 as a regional sales manager based in Seattle. In his new role he will focus on the company’s efforts to maintain and expand relationships with large rental companies, working with national account staff.
