Danish manufacturer Ommelift has started shipping its new 26.5 metre insulated spider lift - the 2650 iRX-46kV.
The platform is designed for working close to power lines and rated to Category C level insulation. The boom is insulated with Waco fibre glass sections and is ANSI A92.2 compliant. First seen as a prototype at the ICUEE show -Utility Expo -in Kentucky, towards the end of last year, it has now been released for sale with the first 2650 iRX units delivered in the USA.
The new machine has a working height of 26.5 metres, and unrestricted outreach of 12.2 metres with 136 kg platform capacity, at an up and over height of 13 metres. Thanks to its dual sigma style dual riser and two section boom it is also able to provide vertical wall tracking. Features also include hydraulic circuit for saw hook up and 180 degrees of platform rotation.
The overall stowed width is 1.1 metres, with the tracks extending to 1.5 metres once on site for improved stability. Overall height is 2.4 metres and stowed overall length 10.24 metres while the machine weighs 6,075kg. It can also set up on slopes as steep as 40 percent. The diesel/battery hybrid power pack with engine generated re-charge is standard. As are radio remote controls.
Chief executive Axel Thøgersen said: “It is our finest job to help professionals work safely at height. This lift provides a safe foundation for trades such as tree workers, allowing them to work safer within a close distance to powerlines.”
