Danish platform companies merge

Extensive negotiations between the owners of the Danish platform rental compa-nies Riwal Scandinavia A/S and mateco Liftudlejning A/S have led to an agreement to merge activities under the name and management of Riwal Scandinavia A/S.

The merger, which was officially completed on 15 October 2002, is in line with mateco's strategy of concentrating on other European markets.

Riwal Scandinavia A/S, established in Odense since 2001 and operating throughout Denmark, is a fully owned group company of Riwal, one of the leading crane and platform rental companies in The Netherlands. The merger fits into the Riwal growth strategy. With over 3.000 rental units across Europe the Riwal Group has recently entered the Top 15 of access companies world-wide.

Under the agreement Riwal Scandinavia A/S will take over most of mateco Liftudlejning’s access equipment as well as the management of both store locations in Odense and Roskilde. The take-over also includes the majority of the mateco Liftudlejning staff ensuring that "clients can still rely on familiar contacts and proven quality of service".
