A telescopic boom lift slipped off the side of a delivery truck yesterday while it was being unloaded at a pig farm in Oostkerke, near Diksmuide, north east Belgium, seriously injuring the operator.
The man, 27, was thrown out of the platform and landed on the truck bed with his head striking a telehandler also on board. He was rushed to hospital, where his condition was said to be serious.
An investigation into what happened has been launched but at this time we have been unable to confirm if the injured man was the truck driver delivering the machine, and whether he was wearing a harness or not. We will update this as and when we learn more.
