Duo loaders for Generation

UK scaffolding supplier Generation UK has taken delivery of two Hiab Hi Duo 188B-2 loader cranes.

Mounted on three axle Scania chassis, the cranes have a maximum load moment of 18 tonne/metres and up to 10.4 metres of reach. The cranes include a full remote control system that allows simultaneous multifunction operation as well as the company’s HiConnect telematics system.

Jamie Whale, Generation UK national fleet and transport manager said: “Our business needs to evidence year on year reductions in our carbon footprint to maintain our Silver FORS accreditation. The HiConnect software which monitors crane usage will play a major role in that. It also gives us real-time insights on operator performance and actual crane usage, we fully expect to reduce our fuel emissions over time.”

Generation UK has added two Hiab loader cranes to its fleet

David McDonald, Hiab northern key account manager, added: “These two cranes are perfectly-suited to Generation UK’s needs. The remote control operations combined with HiConnect software gives incredible visibility for the operator and the fleet manager. We know it’s possible that HiConnect can calculate productivity cost savings of over £1,000 per crane for one year based on idling time alone, which I’m confident Generation UK will benefit from.”
